Bynet Data Comunications Conflict Minerals Policy

This document contains Bynet Data Communications statement regarding the content of Conflict Minerals in our products. This statement is based upon information collected from Bynet Data Communications supply chain.

There has been increased awareness of violence and human rights violations in the mining of certain minerals from a location described as the “Conflict Region”, which is situated in the eastern portion of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and surrounding countries. The Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) and the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) have requested that companies undertake reasonable due diligence with their supply chain to assure that specified metals are not being sourced from mines in the Conflict Region, which is controlled by non-government military groups, or unlawful military factions.

Bynet Data Communications supports the action of the EICC and GeSI and has either obtained, or is in the process of obtaining, information from our current suppliers concerning the origin of the metals that are used in the manufacture of Bynet Data Communications' products. Based upon information provided by our suppliers, Bynet does not knowingly use metals derived from the Conflict Region in our products.

Suppliers of products used in the Bynet products (specifically gold, tin, tantalum and tungsten) shall demonstrate that they understand and support the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) and the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) and will not knowingly procure specified metals that originate from the Conflict Region of Democratic Republic of Congo (DCR) or the surrounding area.

Suppliers shall provide written evidence of due diligence that products supplied to Bynet do not contain raw materials (gold, tin, tantalum and tungsten) originated from the Conflict Region from either mining or smelting operations. Evidence of due diligence from each supplier shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Evidence of a Corporate Policy supporting EICC and GeSI Initiatives, publicly available (such as a link on their public website);
  • Annual letter stating activities completed and underway that support these initiatives;
  • The name and location of the source of the ore and/or the smelter(s) from which the metal(s) was obtained or a statement explaining why this information cannot be provided.
